Decyl Glucoside
a gentle molecule that does the cleaning. one end of it holds on to oil, the other to water, so it lifts off makeup, sunscreen and sweat and lets water rinse them away. it’s made from sugar and fatty alcohols from plants, and it’s so mild it’s often used in baby shampoos, so it cleans without stripping your skin barrier.

the actives
-
Leontopodium Alpinum Flower/Leaf Extract
planika, edelweissthe flower of the Slovenian mountains. it survives the strong sun high in the Alps by making its own antioxidants. on your skin, they help reduce the stress that sun exposure puts on skin cells, and slow down the process where sugars stiffen collagen and make skin look dull. in a clinical study, a cream with this planika extract smoothed the lines between the brows three times better than a placebo after four weeks. since planika is protected in Slovenia, ours is grown organically high in the Alps, specifically for cosmetics.
-
Ectoin
first discovered in 1985 in bacteria living in a salt lake in the Egyptian desert, where it protects them from heat, dryness and salt. ours comes from Germany, where it’s made naturally through fermentation. on your skin, it binds water, strengthens your skin barrier and helps protect it from pollution and the blue light from screens. it’s backed by more than 15 years of clinical research.
